SAMI SPICES has qualified and experienced research team working round-the-clock on innovative formulations from spices for nutraceutical and cosmeceutical applications. Process development forms an integral part of this effort.
Our R&D unit has been recognized as a center for Industrial Research by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Synthetic organic chemical processes are also developed here. The scientists are experienced in performing synthetic reactions such as oxidation, hydrogenation, alkaline and acid hydrolysis, dehydration, alkylations, cyclizations, addition-elimination reactions, halogenation and esterification.
Besides we have been doing extensive work in mineral nutrients and developing compounds containing essential mineral micronutrients in bioavailable organic form. These include products such as Zinc Monomethionine and L(+) Selenomethionine.
In the area of phytonutrients, our scientists have researched more than fifty herbal raw materials. A process for preparing potent standardized extracts from these herbs has also been developed.
Our R&D scientists also help the QC department with stability data on various products. They also prepare reference standards for the assay of active constituents for use in analytical procedures.
They also screen herbal raw material for optimum yielding cultivars, chemical composition, pharmacological actions and medicinal benefits. They document the available information on these aspects and help in the preparation of monographs and technical literature, as well.
